“Forks in the Road”: Healdsburg Highlights

Had never been to Healdsburg, so headed up with the pups for a mid-week February jaunt. (Yes, I’ve been remiss in posting this … hopefully better late than never.) It’s a charming town a lot like Paso Robles – a main square, lots of good restaurants, in the middle of wine country. No wine tasting this trip though, but maybe next time!

L&M Motel – Wonderful family-owned spot, clean, dog-friendly, walk to town, yummy breakfast scones.

Finally visiting one of my favs!

Bear Republic – Oh yeah! Enjoying a trip to one of my favorite breweries with Racer 5 and Hop Shovel IPAs, wings w/ Jamaican jerk sauce, Jamaican burger w/ pineapple and bacon.

So refreshing!
So refreshing!

Ralph’s House – Jalapeño margaritas on the dog-friendly patio … enough said.

Bravas Bar de Tapas – Delightful evening on the dog-friendly back courtyard with a pitcher of white sangria and three tapas: a Tortilla Española with potatoes, roasted piquillo peppers and chorizo, and housemade garlic/Manchego cheese sausage. Enjoyed the leftovers the next morning along with L&Ms housemade mixed berry scones.

Tacones were yummy!

Mateo’s Cocina Latina – Jalapeño margarita … yes, again … don’t judge. Oh, and a mezcal Paloma, along with rich onion soup and guacamole and black bean/housemade chorizo tacones (think little ice cream cones filled with savory yumminess; “tacones” means “heels” in Spanish, and these were a bit high-heeled shaped).

Sigh ...
Sigh …

Noble Folk Ice Cream & Pie Bar – First ever affogato. O.M.G!! A scoop of salted caramel ice cream with a shot of espresso poured over the top.

IPA heaven

Bear Republic – Yes again … and again, don’t judge. Café 21, Fast Back, and Hop Shovel IPAs.

All this for beer? Even I don't get it.

Russian River Brewing – Stopped to meet friends for lunch on the last day of the Pliny the Younger frenzy. Amazing feat of marketing!! People had been in line since dawn. I love beer as much as the next, butnot as much as these folks! We went for yummy Chinese food at Ting Hau a couple doors down and watched the spectacle.
